Orange Pass Competition
Nicole Saldana, Alisal High School
Instead of a banana pass, recently, we did a orange pass game. we were in
the steps were we hold our rallies, and each class had to form a line to the
top of the stairs. Then the object of this game would be to pass the
orange(w/o using your hands!!!) with your neck, then the last person would
run down after passing it all the way through the line. Its really and many
students partake in it.
Night at the Roxbury Prom Theme
For our 2007 Prom, our class replicated the movie 'A Night at the Roxbury'
starring Will Ferrel and Chris Kattan. It was outrageous! We had tons of
lights and stars..we even had street signs and trees and a 'graffiti' wall
all representing thier club they opened!
Ice Ice Relay – Pep Rally Game
the game is called "Ice ice relay". three boys and three girls from each
class (more depending on the class size) line up on opposite sides of the
gym or auditorium. They take turns sliding on a block of ice (on stomachs,
bottoms.. anything) from one side to the other, switching from boy to girl.
The first team with all players across wins. Play "ice ice baby" by vanilla
ice while the competition is going on. Hilarious to play and watch, crowds
love it.
Welcome Senior Crowns
Brittany G, Katella High School
Have a crown for every senior at your school to let the whole school know
who are the KINGS / QUEENS of the school. Have them school colors and hand
them out on the first day of school, or at your first assembly; so that
everyone can recognize the Senior Class.
Dress-Up Days
Gia Iacona, Scituate High School
Class Color Day - Each class (freshman, sophomore, junior and senior) is
assigned a class color. The way my school does it is: Freshman--Yellow and
Orange, Sophomores--Green, Juniors--Red, Seniors--Black and White. This is
the best day. We go all out crazy. We paint our bodies with out class
colors, decorate our lockers and accessorize like crazy!
Senior Sunrise / Sunset
Matthew Cauthron, Cesar E. Chavez High School
The Senior Sunrise is held within the first month of school. The purpose of
this activity is to celebrate the begining of a new school year, but yet a
new begining. The activity consists of all the senior class meeting in the
football stadium and watching the morning sunrise while enjoying a light
pastry breakfast and entertainment. Towards the end of the year, they meet
again in the foot ball stadium, but yet enjoy a BBQ dinner and enjoy the
sunset, inwhich represents the end of the school year, and end of high
school. This is a memorable event inwhich helps bring back high school
memories and adds to senior class activities.,
Homecoming Dance & Spirit Week Themes
Rachel Brown, Terra Linda High School
Homecoming Theme: "Rescue Me" - My school used this theme and it worked out
perfectly! Each class had their own sub- theme. ex. life guards, police,
firefighters and army.
Middle School Activity
Shombree, Middle School
For a school activity we had crazy hair day. I went and got clips, hair
color, combs, gloves, mirrors. The students payed 2 dollars and got their

Wink Wink Lunchtime Activity
Karissa Saucedo, Madera South High
"WINK WINK KISSING CONTEST" first we post flyers with LIps all over saying
Kissing contest with date when where. Then we has a boy and girl sit face to
face and they think they are going against the other pairs, and we give each
pair a tic tac. We have a count down with mood music in the background.
Between the countdown we stop them and tell them to wait. Then we bring out
the CHOCOLATE KISSES. THe girls feed the boys the candy with in a certain
amount of time. The pair that eats the most wins.
Homecoming Week Ideas
Sarah Torbert, Archie High School
At my school, instead of floats, we decorate the hallway. We divide the
hallways in to four sections. Each class gets their own section. They have
all week to decorate their section. At the end of the week we usually have
the cooks, elementary classes, or janitors vote on who did the best job.
Middle School Open House
Marti Kemp, Marshall Middle Scool
We've had a waterfeed that both parents and students enjoyed, especially in
100 degree weather! Parents brought cakes for our end of the evening prize
drawing. We've also had our Science classes display their science projects.
I'm new at this and I would like some new ideas. Any would be greatly
appreciated.
Fundraising for Seniors
San, Skyline high school
As the leader for patriotism and school spirit committee and part of the
varsity cheer squad, i em in-charge for organizing pep-rallies, half time,
senior activities, etc.
And as a senior it came to my attention how underclassmen are usually
"picked on" by us Seniors. So i thought it would be a good idea for a
fundraiser if we had a "Pick On a Senior Carnival".
Its when the tables are turned and the underclassmen get to pick on the
seniors. We got all the varsity jocks and student council to participate.
Some seniors were placed in a seat and under them was a tank of water where
if the underclass men hit the target the senior would fall in the tank.
Other underclassmen would throw pies to the other seniors and ther was many
other activities. It was a lot of fun!
We charged a $1.50cents at the door. Once the students were inside they had
to purchase coupons to buy food and to do the activities.

Middle School Fundraising
Lilly, Utt Middle School
since i'm in ASB/fundraising committee, i like to plan family nights. i call
up any local restaurant and i tell them that i am a student from Utt Middle
School, and i proceed to ask them if they do funraisers at their restauaunt.
if they say yes, then we make a date, (usually 3 weeks in advance), make
posters and announcements, and when that night comes around, you get to see
all of your friends and help raise money for the school. it's really alot of
fun and excitment.
Themed Days
so at my school (North Salinas High school) we have this day once a year
called National Sportsmanship Day. and our school gets pretty into it becaue
we are probably the only school who promotes it in our area. The whole day
students dress up in their fav jerseys and what ever first period class that
has the most kids dressed up wins a breakfast. in each class, certain
students are recognized for promoting good sportsmanship or being
TRRFC(trustworthy, respectful, responsible, fairness, and caring).. with a
certificate, viking spirit item, and a lunch with the other students who
were recognized. We have a rally at lunch where a DJ comes. and during that
time we have this BIG LONG BANNER where everyone can come and sign their
name for being TRRFC. It's something that has become a tradition at our
school and maybe it will become yours too
Sprit Game
Ariel, Alvarado High School
You are blindfolded and a popsicle is dangling from above. Whoever finishes
the popsicle first, wins. but the popsicle may not drop on the ground or
else you have to find it from the ground.
Beginning of School Pep Rally - Introducing ASB
Katherine, Northlake Christian High School
Organize a huge beginning of school pep rally. Open with an up beat song,
and have one person run out or start a dance routine to kind of introduce
them selves. Add one person from your executive council and just continue to
add people till you have introduced all of your officers for the year. Its a
bit hit.
Sprirt Week / Homecoming
Valerie, Waterville Junior/Senior High
For as long as I can remember, during homecoming week each class got to
decorate their part of the hallway. Last year we had a really hard time with
students not caring and ripping stuff and ruining that hallways. Our school
is kinda lacking school spirit and so some kids that worked really hard from
one class just came to school the next day to watch their class mates that
didnt really care ruin what they worked on. So this year my friend and I are
activity coordinators and we decided to have each class decortate shopping
carts. Ok that sounds really weird but it was cool. That way even after
homecoming was over we still had the shopping carts and thats where we put
spirit points. Now to make the points work you have to pick a color of paper
for each class and have your asb pres. sign each paper so if they are stolan
you know. Everything went well and kids got excited for decorate them
because they are not as big as hall ways and dont take as long.
Green Eggs 'n Ham Fun Friday Event
K. Latendresse, El Camino Middle School
Supplies per pair: Pig Mask, Green Plastic eggs, bag to catch with.
I found pink foam pig masks online at US Toys. Cover the eyes with masking
tape. I use plastic Easter eggs -- the green ones, and have my students
decorate/color the white and yellow ones with a green sharpie as well.
Activity: One pig masked student tosses eggs from their pile into the air
while their partner catches them with a bag or green pillowcase. The pair
with the most caught (they can steal each others mid-air) wins! I usually
set this up on grass, as plastic eags will smash on cement. Also put a
little bit of paper stuffing in eggs to give them a bit of weight. Tape down
the seams. Establish a line that the catchers can't cross while playing. The
'hams' with then have to rely on their partners to give them directions on
their throws. Plan on some eggs getting stepped on. (I usually have an extra
ASB student retreive as many as possible off the grass during the game.)
Prom Themes
Tammy Jones, Canajoharie High School
Our kids wanted to use Vegas, but our principal was concerned about more
conservative parents and a gambling theme. We created a night on the vegas
strip by creating five hotels, one in each gym corner and one in our atrium.
Each part had it's own hotel theme. We chose the Venetian, The Excalibur,
The Paris, the Aladdin and the Luxor in our atrium. With city scape in
between, it was fantastic. The kids spent the night going from hotel to
hotel for photo ops just like they were on the Vegas strip; all without a
poker chip in sight.
March Madness Raffle
Scott Clardyb, Ilwaco High School
March Madness Raffle- You hand out team brackets to students for a specific
dollar amount, kind of like a bingo card, and then they fill it out and the
student who best predicts the results of the tournament wins a prize. There
is no set amount of bracket boards that can be handed out to one peticular
student.
