Improvisation Leadership Activity
Improvisation is a great way to teach your leadership
students to think quickly on their feet. Quick think is
a characteristic attributed to many great leaders.
Provide your students with a number of scenarios,
objects, songs, etc… and make them think quickly on
their feet.
Improvisation #1: Select four students and give them
each a pencil. They must tell the class the purpose or
main usage is for a pencil, but they cannot say it is
used for writing, and students cannot repeat one
another’s ideas.
Improvisation #2: Select 6-8 students and have them
makeup a story one word at a time. No one word can be
repeated twice, and if it is the student who repeated
the word must sit down.
Improvisation #3: Select a student who must create a
jingle or advertisement for a product they cannot see.
Place the product behind the student so the rest of the
class can see it. The participant must try to gauge the
class’s reaction to see how well he or she is doing.
Improvisation #4: Give a word or concept to a student or
students and they must create a short song about the
word or concept. Give the students less than a minute to
prepare or think about their song.
