Your prom committee can develop various fundraisers to help off set the cost of prom tickets as well as increase your decorating budget. The following are popular fundraisers:

Prom Magazine Fundraiser

Each year our school used to produce a successful prom fashion show where students showed off dresses / tuxes from local companies. After many years of producing the same event we decided to change it up and develop a Prom Fashion Magazine. We copied the layout similar to the Prom Magazines found at the bookstores. Similar to the Prom Fashion Show, we asked local dress companies, jewelry shops, hair salons, tuxedo companies, etc. if they were interested in letting our students model their products. We also sold advertising spots in our magazine to these companies, as well as flower shops, tanning salons etc. On a certain day we had all the students meet at a local hotel, park, and studio where we had their pictures taken modeling the outfits. The students had a blast and the magazine proved to be very successful. We published the magazine and provided a copy every senior for free (the ad's covered the cost of publishing).

Tip: Be sure to check the dresses out beforehand to ensure that they are appropriate for a school event.

Selling candy, doughnuts, car washes, and magazine sales.

Passing out flyers for local hair salons etc. or publishing ads in school newspaper

A prom fashion show could be organized where students can showcase tuxedos and dresses from local shops.
