PROM COMMITTEE
Picture By: The Event Group / Prom at The California Science Center
Without a prom committee, there would be no prom. The members of the committee are responsible for creating the perfect prom, from the site location to decorations. Whether the committee is comprised of class-appointed officers or volunteers, its members should be committed to months of hard work in order to produce and plan a successful prom that will be remembered for years to come. Joining the prom committee is a way for students to have a voice in every decision related to your schools special night.
Your prom committee should be comprised of an advisor and various student volunteers. You should begin to form your prom committee during the beginning of the school year. Make announcements in your school newspaper, school television, etc. in order to get more students involved. First, select a prom committee chair. This student will serve as the link between your class advisor / prom advisor and the student volunteers. Whether this student is a class officer or a volunteer from the general student body, this person should be a strong student leader who is organized and responsible.
