Student vs. Teacher Competition

For some fun at a rally, set up a class competition where the faculty also participates. Students absolutely love seeing teachers “make fools” of themselves. A blindfolded ice cream sundae contest is a great activity.  Have the faculty and students make sundaes with all the toppings. You then blindfold the participants and see who can eat the sundae the fastest. There’s a catch! Tell your students, prior to the rally, that you are tricking the staff members, so when the announcer says “go," they should step back from the table leaving only the faculty there scarfing their sundaes. The crowd gets a good laugh  watching the teachers “go to town with their sundaes," making a mess of themselves and actually thinking it’s a real race.
