Intramural 3 on 3 Basketball

3-on-3 basketball is the intramural activity of the year. The students come out in droves to participate. Listed below are some suggested tips for a successful 3-on-3 tournament:

  1. Create a sign-up sheet in the ASB office and
publicize the event via the daily bulletin or a poster campaign.

  2. Reserve the gymnasium and any outside basketball courts for the duration of the activity.

  3. Create a set of rules with the intramural commissioner. Click here to download rules.

  4. Try to play the tournament after basketball season because, most likely, your basketball players will want to participate.

  5. Collaborate with the P.E. department for equipment.
You will need one basketball for each court, plus one official stopwatch for the tournament.

  6. Your ASB students can officiate. They simply serve as point keepers. Teams will call their own fouls. Click here to download a score sheet.

  7. Hold a meeting to go over rules with all the teams prior to the first game.

  8. Play all the games during lunchtime.
