Drum-Off Competition Lunch Activity

Just like the Battle of the Guitars, this will be one of your most popular
activities on campus, and it’s simple to do. You have dozens of students on
campus who spend countless hours practicing and playing their drums and are just
waiting for a chance to perform. Publicize that you are having a
Drum-Off, and participants will flock in. The format is super easy. Have the
participants bring in their equipment the day of the activity. Tell them
ahead of time that each person will be given an opportunity to play three
thirty-second jams on their drums. It is a round robin type of activity
where everyone has a chance to play. The crowd will scream for the best two
participants, and they will get a chance to go head-to-head. The winner is
chosen by the loudest level of applause he/she receives. This activity will generate
a standing room only environment. As an added bonus, you can
announce prior to
the competition that the winner of the contest will have an opportunity to
play at the next spirit rally.
