The Lineman Challenge Class Competition
The Linemen Challenge is a series of competitions
between football linemen from
different grade levels. The first phase involves one
lineman from each class plus five additional classmates.
The linemen must physically
move everyone in his line to a predetermined location. Basically, it’s
a race between the linemen to see who can use their
strength and speed to carry their line the fastest. The
first place winner is given 4 points, second place 3
points, 3rd place 2 points, and 4th
place 1 point. Make sure you have an ASB student keeping
an accurate tally of the points. The second phase of the
competition is a hamburger-eating contest. The lineman
who eats the most hamburgers in two minutes is the
winner and is awarded 4 points with second place
receiving 3 points and so on. The last phase of the
competition involves an obscure spelling bee. Each
lineman is given a clipboard with paper and a pen. An
ASB student reads off 5 obscure/funny words. The lineman
who spells the most words correctly is given 4 points,
second place 3 points and so on. Once the competition is
over, total up all of the points and declare a winner.
