Bombs Away Class Competition
Give each class 50 predetermined colored pieces of 8 x
11 in paper. For example, the freshmen may
have red;
sophomore’s blue, and so on. Tie four hula-hoops
to a string, one for each class. The goal is to see how
many paper airplanes a class can make in 3 minutes and
then fly through their predetermined hula-hoop. Be sure
you have ASB students keeping an accurate tally during
the activity. This activity works best if you rope off a
10-foot area in front of the hula-hoops. Make sure you
have help with supervision because most likely you will
a handful of students who will find it quite funny to
throw their airplanes at human targets, which isn’t the
intent.
